Educational Visits

Woburn Abbey is a fantastic venue for higher learning and school groups of all ages. It combines learning with an enjoyable experience. Groups can make their own way round the house and the gardens following the self guided tours or opt for a pre-booked guided tour with one of our specially trained guides (house tours also in French, German and Italian).

If the group has an interest in a particular collection or historic aspect of the house, a tour with one of our knowledgeable, specialist tour guides can be arranged. Popular choices include the Canaletto, Porcelain, Sevres, Silver and Gold collections. Lunch can also be pre-booked in the Duchess' Tea Room. Teacher pre-visits are available, please request at time of booking.

Darwin 200 at Woburn Abbey

New For 2009 - Darwin 200

Visit Woburn this year and discover one man's theory on the origin of the species. 2009 is the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth and the 150th anniversary of the publication of his seminal work 'On the Origin of the Species by Means of Natural Selection'.

To commemorate Darwin's famous theory Woburn Abbey and Woburn Safari Park have jointly created a uniquely inspiring day tailored for students (key stage 2, 3, 4, post 16, undergraduate and specialist groups) and enthusiasts alike.

Join our expert guides for a full day of discovery illustrating Woburn's link with Darwin, his life, inspirations and his theory of evolution. Find out how experiments carried out a Woburn Abbey influenced Darwin and how animals at Woburn Safari Park demonstrate his theory.
