Forestry
The Bedford Estates Forestry Department manage various commercial concerns and assist with tree issues across the Woburn Estate including at Woburn Golf Club, Woburn Safari Park and within Woburn Abbey Gardens.
The Commercial Blocks
(1430 ha/3,500 acres) The productive areas are split approximately 50/50 conifers and broadleaf trees. The Estate's woodlands are managed under a 20 year plan in agreement with the Forestry Commission to ensure long term sustainable management and are FSC certified to the highest standards.
The Evergreens
(67 ha/165 acres) This area contains a commercial component of timber but is essentially a private area used by the Dukes of Bedford and contains many specimen and champion trees from around the world.
The Woburn Woods also contain two sites of Special Scientific Interest. One major archaeological feature and a significant area classified as an 'ancient semi-mature woodland'.
Woburn itself is also classified as a Conservation Area, with associated restrictions.

Quality firewood can be ordered from Bedford Estates (Ash, Oak, Beech).
