Afternoon Tea
The tradition of taking Afternoon tea is said to have been started by Duchess Anna Maria, wife of the 7th Duke of Bedford at Woburn Abbey during the 1840s. She felt that it was a long time between luncheon and dinner and that taking tea and delicate sandwiches, cakes and biscuits at 5 o’clock helped bridge the gap. Served from 3pm to 5.30pm
Tavistock Bar and Lounge
The Tavistock bar and lounge offers an informal setting to enjoy our cask-conditioned ales and a superb choice of fine wines. In addition, our snack menu can be enjoyed from 12 noon until 10pm and includes a delicious range of sandwiches, salads, wraps and our Chef’s 'Dish of the Day'.
